This course covers the foundational and professional skills needed in today''s classrooms.
Knowledge about educational environments, student abilities, disabilities, communication,
positive interactions, and problem-solving are critical to an effective paraeducator. Eight of
the hours will be virtual "face-to-face" sessions. The remainder of the course will be completed
online. Attendance during the virtual "face-to-face" portions is required, and all work must be
completed. An estimated 3.5 hours per week will be spent to complete the course in 9 weeks.
