This course is designed for administrators in Mississippi Bend AEA districts and is offered for evaluator approval credit.
This course is for administrators who will gain leadership experiences that are critical components of school improvement. Participants will engage in practitioner-centered, evidence-informed research to prioritize actions in the context of their individual growth plans.
The participants will understand what they need to do and how, when, and why the actions are critical to student outcomes. Professional learning will focus on the key elements of leadership, teaching, and learning, and impact to drive improvement efforts. The learning, collaboration, and coaching will connect participants to the practical day-to-day work of leading, teaching, and learning to the outcomes they seek to improve outcomes for students. The Iowa Standards for School Leaders will be used to frame the content with an emphasis on Standards 4, 6, and 10. To support learning that is sustained and ongoing, the learning experiences will include opportunities for reflection and networking to share learning and discuss scenario-based problems of practice.
