Instructional Supports is the second course in the paraeducator series, followed by behavioral
Supports. Although not required, it is recommended participants take Foundations, the first course in the series. Further details about the paraeducator certification are located below the summary.
This course expands understanding of the importance of the learning environment and ways to
meet the needs of diverse learners. Participants will discover best practices to support improved instructional outcomes. Learning will expand skills around varied ways to meet student needs. Eight of the hours will be virtual "face-to-face" sessions. The remainder of the course will be completed online. Attendance during the virtual "face-to-face" portions is required, and all work must be completed. An estimated 3.5 hours per week will be spent to complete the course in 9 weeks.
